Gold production in South Africa dropped 0.1% year-on-year in September 2023, following a downwardly revised 0.5% increase in August. This marks the first decline in gold mining since December 2022 amid fading low-base effects.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, gold output decreased by 2.5%, following a 2.5% rise in the prior month.
